This 3 foot wide by 5-1/2
foot long banner is made of dupioni silk, and was designed
utilizing luminescent banner techniques. The cross, dove,
shell and water droplets are also dupioni silk and are
applied to a dark blue background which gives them a three-dimensional
illusion. The shell and dove pieces were cut from different
naps of the silk fabric providing the finished banner
with luminescent (light-reflective) variations in fiber,
color and texture.(See Closeup)
The banner has a wooden dowel
with wood ends and a braided cord for hanging.
The design appears high on
the banner which will allow a baptismal font to be placed
in front of the banner without encroaching on the design.
